My Experience on the Mount of Olives – “Lord, I am here.”

“Lord, I am here.  . . .here on the Mount of Olives.  If You would to return right now, that would be just fine with me!”  These are the words I found myself praying as I stood on that mountain – realizing that was the very place our Lord will return. (Zech. 14:3-5, Matt. 24:2-4)

Our trip to Israel far exceeded our expectations. We toured several cities to include Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.  We stood in the Caesarea Theatre where the chariot races took place and on Mount Mikado – where the Battle of Armageddon will be fought. That was a very sobering thought and view. We also visited the church where Jesus turned the water into wine.  The boat ride on the Sea of Galilee was an incredible experience as we looked out at the same landscape Jesus and the disciples saw. You will remember that this is where He walked on the water. We saw the temple where Jesus preached when the paralyzed man was was lowered through the roof described in Mark 2:4;  saw the City of David, and David’s tomb. One day on the tour bus we drove past the tomb of Rachel.

It was a beautiful day when we gathered under the shade trees at the Mount of Beatitudes and sat on the rocks (possibly the same rocks where the disciples sat.) The is where Jesus preached one of the most important sermons in His ministry. Tom Dooley read His Words from Matthew 5- The Beatitudes.  Imaging what it must have been like that day 2000 years ago and the reality of just where we were - was a highlight of the trip.

I know you will want to hear more about our Israel experience and I will continue with  more details of our tour in the next few days . . . to include photographs. I invite you to continue to check my BLOG for the rest of the story.

Thank you for your prayer for the recent Conferences where I was a guest speaker.  I believe they went well.

Touring Israel – A Life Changing Experience

Where should I begin to share with you about our recent experience in Israel March 25 – April 2?  We had a wonderful time! The tour was sponsored by MasterMedia Ministries and our good friends Tom & Melanie Dooley.  Tom is the host of “The Journey with Tom Dooley” daily radio program on KVTT 91.7 FM.  This was their 10th tour to Israel – so it was outstanding in every way.

One very meaningful experience for me was in Jerusalem when we were walking down the Via Dolorosa.  I could almost hear Sandi Patti singing that song “Via Dolorosa.” Today that narrow street is lined with shops and very crowded with many people.  I said to my husband: “Ronnie, this is like it was THAT day.  This street was just this crowded that day – when Jesus carried the Cross up this very street.”  I could only imagine and I wept.

There is so much to share so I will continue to tell you more about our tour in future blogs. To have the opportunity to make this trip was a lifetime dream for me.

Upon our return I spoke at a Women’s Retreat for Central Baptist Church in Katy, TX and it was a huge blessing.  Many ladies purchased the OnCall Prayer Journals and I am already receiving many encouraging reports.

I am now busy preparing to speak at a women’s conference on April 25th.  Please check the details of this event and  visit www.conferenceforaspiringwomen.com. Please join us. It is not too late to register. If you are a woman – you are qualified to attend and we’d love to have you!

Until next time.

Blessings,

Sharon
